Grateful to have located the perfect pancakes for Simon’s Birthday breakfast in Berlin. Turns out they aren’t that common here – not fluffy ones anyway; crepes are readily available. This one is my delicious banana pancake with maple syrup.
Not exactly on the main strip but if you are in Berlin I think worth the effort to get there – http://schoenescafe.de/
Grateful that really you never know what you will get when you order something in a foreign country. This was ‘bratwurst with potato pancake’. The sausage came wrapped in bacon. Really something that I had never thought to do with a sausage which I tend to find perfectly fat filled on its own. But it was tasty.
Grateful for a bowl of vegetables in Munich … lovely to see such relatively relatively healthy food after a week of pizza and pasta in Italy (I wasn’t counting the 1/2 stick of melted butter on the vegetables …).
Grateful for the fun that I had with fried mozarella balls while killing some time before our night train from Florence to Munich.
Grateful for an opportunity for balcony dining. Our beautiful hotel hosts were watching the soccer tonight (Italy v England EuroCup) so didn’t have the restaurant open and instead delivered delicious ravioli and big glasses of beer to our room for us to have on our balcony. Bliss!
Grateful for my first ever Hooters experience … In Interlaken. The view (of the mountains) was amazing, as was watching paragliders land in the park across from us and they are the only place to serve the unfiltered Zwickel (Beer) from the local brewery.
Grateful for the delicious chocolate football’s handed out on our train rides today 🙂
Grateful for the recommendation of this restaurant Ferme des 4 Saisons – seemingly in the middle of nowhere (but a short walk from our accommodation at Chimay – also in the middle of no where. Fantastic food, fantastic wait staff and, of course, fantastic beer. It was awesome to not be in a big city for really the first time on our honeymoon.
Grateful we decided to go on a Belgian Chocolate Crawl this afternoon; after researching the best chocolate shops we hit the Grand Sablon in Brussels.
New type of delicious Indian bread with delicious Indian dinner tonight in London.
